Running Great Meetings in Your Organization

Running Great Meetings in Your Organization

In this workshop-style course, your will complete an organizational self-assessment based on best practices whereby your group determines its collective strengths and areas it could improve.  Participants will also conduct personal self-assessments to determine areas of strength and struggle, and we will review common strategies to address those areas.  We review basic principles for running effective meetings and uncover barriers in your environment that may prevent full adoption. Generally, most people know the principles, but the discipline in applying them consistently requires collective commitment and support.  So, we also facilitate your group to determine how to respectfully monitor participation in future meetings.  Together, your team will decide how to change the way you will behave in the future and create acceptable means to monitor and support each other as you work together to implement the desired behaviors. We will “test drive” and practice the decisions you’ve made in a safe environment and make adjustments, as needed.  Participants will be encouraged to objectively view areas for improvement in their own active projects and create an individual action plan to use course techniques.   Finally, just like every great meeting, we will summarize our decisions and the actions we will commit to when we leave the room, including assigning the right person to monitor progress.

By developing talent in running great meetings and deciding how you will change your collective behavior, your organization will be better positioned deliver on project commitments, communicate successfully with your colleagues and waste less of your precious time in ineffective and frustrating meetings.  The overall objectives to Running Great Meetings in Your Organization are:
